Knitted Dainty Bells

 John's Aunt Marie knitted little bells like these in red and green and embellished curling ribbon for Christmas corsages  many years ago.
 I used her pattern and made bells in white, pink and blue.
They are sweet used to decorate wedding or shower gifts or as 1st  (Christmas Together, Baby's 1st Christmas) ornaments
I stitched a pin back to the white bells so they can be worn as a corsage (for the Bride-to-be) as well.
Dainty BellsPrint Pattern

Yarn required for each bell is about 6 yards worsted weight 4-ply
a bead or bell for 'clapper'
Size 8 standard knitting needles (I used size 5)

Cast on 6 sts.
Row 1: K across
Row 2: SL. ST as to K. K 5 (mark SL ST end)
Row 3 through 17: Repeat rows 1 and 2, end on SL ST end.  Bind off. Do NOT cut yarn.
Pick up 1 ST along edge opposite SL ST, 19 STS.

Row 1: (Wrong side) K
Row 2: P
Row 3: K
Bind off in P.  Fasten off leaving about 18-inches yarn.  Thread needle and back stitch so seam will not pucker.  Pull needle through SL STs and draw together.  Fasten securely.  Thread bead or bell and attach to inside of bell.
I still have the hand written pattern from Aunt Marie.She will be 94 years old in June
